Much like the barrier islands that litter the coast, we embrace the change behind each tide. Lead by an unsuppressed and singular season – our passion of the lesser known yet vital natural niches found throughout the region fuels our drive for art and discovery.
That’s where the apparel comes in. Palm Breezy is a Florida based lifestyle brand rooted in the wildlife, unchanged pace, and somewhat unfamiliar niches found right here in our backyard. Our designs aren’t just coastal aesthetics — they are diary entries that reflect on a place where most people vacation but fall short of truly understanding.
The tortoise didn’t ask for this.
Moving to Florida for the late summer humidity is not a thing, yet something about it sears the soul, leaving an impression often described as dream like. While both harsh and lush with arguably the best sunrise in the United States, once you experience it — you start belonging to it.
The gopher tortoise figured that out 60 million years ago. He’s been here through it all — the heat, the hurricanes, the development —diligently digging in the same scrublands and dunes, providing a crucial habitat for over 350 other species in the process. He is a literal living legend – and the only suitable candidate to represent our brand.
Said plainly – the gopher tortoise represents the quiet and unglamorous work that keeps the very fabric of our ecosystem together. More important – his very existence is listed as “threatened” – and we think that’s simply unacceptable.
